Many students do not want to take the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET). They also want to study medicine or become doctors. Here’s my list of courses for students who don’t wish to take the NEET exam but still want to go into medicine. Many of these courses can be completed by anyone with a Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent. The majority of these courses can be done at home.
The Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology ranks as one of the best options for medical school. To be able to study BSc Microbiology at a good college, you don’t need to be a NEET. After graduation, you’ll be a qualified microbiologist. You can also work in labs located within or outside hospitals to test samples from patients. You can also get a license to start your own business as a Pathologist, which is what India calls it.
Anyone can obtain the Diploma in Lab Technology if they have a Secondary School Certificate. This course is available at the Indian Industrial Training Institutes (ITI). The Diploma course lasts two years. The Diploma course teaches you how to collect blood, analyze samples from patients and perform phlebotomy. This course is available all across India and does not require you to pass NEET.
If you are not interested in appearing for the NEET, the Bachelor of Science Nursing program is another option. This course will allow you to apply for the Registered Nurse license and can work in any Indian hospital or clinic. Most BSc Nursing certificates from Indian universities are recognized abroad. You will take care of patients on the ward, taking samples for testing, and administering medications according to doctor’s orders. Private nursing work is also available.
The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology is for you if you are interested in counseling people. After graduation, you’ll be a certified psychologist. Remember that psychology is not the same as psychiatry. In the sense that psychiatrists are a medical specialty, psychiatry can also be called a mental health specialization. You will be responsible to counsel patients with serious illnesses or special needs in hospitals and clinics. By starting your own practice, you can work independently as a counselor.
Biomedical engineering is an emerging field in India. Biomedical engineering is a combination of medicine, engineering, and healthcare to find solutions to problems in health and diagnostics. This course is four years long. Qualified biomedical engineers have many job opportunities. India is experiencing a shortage in biomedical engineers. Companies that manufacture diagnostic equipment, hospitals, and healthcare providers would be your employers.
The job of a nutritionist is quite interesting. This involves testing various foods and recommending the right diet for people with different alimentary disorders, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. A BSc degree in Nutrition could land you a job as a nutritionist in hospitals, food processing firms, government agencies such as the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India and Food and Drugs Authority of India.
The Bachelor of Pharmacy program is for you if medicine interests you. This three-year course is offered by most of the top universities in India. You can open your own pharmacy by becoming a B.Pharm. You could also work in a hospital pharmacy or medical store. All Indian medical shops must have at least one pharmacist to manage their operations. Two government agencies, FSSAI and FDA, also employ B.Pharm graduates.
Assistants to physiotherapists must have completed the Physiotherapy Technician Course in India. After completing your SSC, or an equivalent, you can take this course. You can find the Physiotherapy Technician course at ITI centers across India. After you have completed your training, you will be able to find work at physiotherapy clinics, orthopedic hospitals, and sports medicine practitioners. Additionally, you will learn how to use the various equipment involved in physiotherapy.
It is possible to take a Master of Business Administration (MBA), course in hospital management if you are a graduate of any stream. This is an excellent qualification that can lead to many jobs. These graduates are generally hired by private and public hospitals to oversee administration and other business-related matters.
The final option is the dental technician course. This course can be taken at ITI centers all across India. Anyone with an SSC or equivalent is eligible to join this medical course. This course will teach you how to prepare dentures, take molds, and maintain dental equipment.
